I’m beginning the marketing process for a site that I just developed. The site has about 20 visible pages of quality text (it’s a mathbook where anyone can see 20 pages while the rest is for paying users only) for a specific branch in mathematics. My backlinking strategy is to find forums that offer students help in the particular topics on my site, give helpful responses and then include a link to my site. Something like:
You can submit press releases on important events of your site or business. They not only get some back links but also spread the news about your site/business. Though there are several hundreds of PR sites, only few of them are good and bring any traffic.
Creating backlinks for your website is about popularizing your website so that it becomes visible to more and more number of searchers. Link Popularity helps a website to gather better search engine credibility as well as get ‘ranked’ better.
Below listed are some techniques that you should follow for getting quality backlinks for your website:
Write Quality content that reader would like to share with others through Facebook and Twitter.
Write guest posts for other blogs with link to your site.
Building social profiles and using them to link back to your content.
Inter linking all your website pages.
Participate in forums and comment on quality blogs.
And stay away from these Link Building Strategies:
Don’t try to acquire links from websites that are punched by Panda i.e the websites that have lost rankings after Panda Update.
Avoid getting links from sites with no moderation i.e where your link gets approved immediately after posting.
this is just a sample. Your article needs to be 500 or so words long, contain keywords that you are targetting and at least one link through to your site.
You would be suprised - all sites are article worthy. These articles aren’t so much for human consumption as robot! They will create the links you need and really - don’t worry if they are fun or interesting!
SEO 101 says… forget about backlinks and deal with your site’s content
Why?
First of all backlinks matters only if you’re chasing PR tail
Second, when people see your site in top 10 or 50, they don’t care if you have backlinks or PR but they are surely care what your site have to offer and only content will give you that SERP position.
Nonsense. Social bookmark backlinks are among the lowest quality links! Most are nofollowed; are on PR0 pages and pretty soon are not even indexed!!! How can they even be close to even being considered “quality”!
Hmmm…it sounds like there are competing thoughts out there, though from my experience, SitePoint Wizards DO know what’s really going on out there (no offense to other posters!).
I think that for now, I will focus on my content (which is good!), submit to Google, take a wait and see approach and then perhaps come back with more pointed questions.
Actually there is no competing thoughts…
it just there is right way to do things and wrong one and Wizards follow the right way.
The problem is 95% of forum posts made by wannabies “SEO Pros” whose idea about SEO
is to build as many as possible backlinks and who believes that “content” is a dirty word.
To Create quality backlinks do link building. Link building improves the visibility of your website in search engine and also brings traffic to your website.
